This takes place in the Faerie realm. Seelie Court, Unseelie Court, and solitary fae are welcome. You don't have to be a faerie, but it might help if at least some of us are. No plot as of yet, but we can figure that out as we go.

I don't know how many of you know about this kind of stuff, but here's a basic idea of it:

Seelie means blessed, Unseelie unblessed. Seelie does not always mean good, just as Unseelie does not always mean bad. Faeries were called the fair folk, but that was mostly to flatter them. Common people were scared of what they could do. Faeries could create glamour, to hide their true identity, but that could be seen through out of the corner of one's eye. If you know the true name of a faerie, you can have complete control over him/her.

Things such as kelpie, centaurs, elves, and other mythological beings are welcome, but they have to relate to the faeries in some way. You could also be human, if you really wanted to. For this rp, my character Rachel is going to be a solitary fey - not connected to either Seelie or Unseelie.

Interesting. I'm lacking inspiration right now, but I'll be sure to join up in due time.

(( I'll do the first post ))

Rachel made sure to move quietly, past the Court knights and the royal faeries. The solitary weren't welcome at this particular party, but that didn't really matter to her at the moment. There was someone here she needed to see, the old fae who raised her before she cut ties with the Unseelie Court. He would be the only one to make the Queen understand.

Something was happening. A distortion in the Realm that only the solitary, who lived at the edges of the human and faerie worlds, could truly sense and understand. Change was coming, but no one could say quite what.

She struggled through the crowd, hoping no one caught a glimpse through her glamour and realized what she was. She had to tell her guardian about the distortion. He was one of the few who could interpret the signs of magick. He would know what to do about it.

( I don't know if this is quite how you wanted it to turn out, but I figured I should help get this RP started. If you want something changed, just let me know.)

It had only been three days since the mysterious portal had appeared. It stood amidst many beautiful flowers, yet the beauty of the portal itself drew all attention. It had caught the attention of the locals, wich somehow alerted the military. Two soldiers were guarding the entrance, they believed that they were to protect the villagers from whatever lived inside of the portal. If only they knew...

The government knew of the Faeries and everything else that could be found, but they hid the truth from the inhabitants. That is why those guards were really sent, they were meant to keep the knowledge of this magical realm a secret. And they were doing a good job, untill...

An assassin appeared behind the first soldier, and mercilessly broke the soldier's neck. The second guard aimed his weapon for the assassin, only to find out that his adversary already stood behind him. A blade pierced the soldier's heart as he fell down, dead.

The assassin looked at the gleaming light inside of the portal and whispered several words to himself.

'This portal doesn't lead to the Demon Realm...The magic that surrounds this place is far too bright to have orginated there, could it be that the legends of the Faeries are also true...?'

The assassin took a deep breath, then stepped inside of the portal. He found himself in a world unlike anything he had ever seen before.

(I'll join up in a little bit. I'm going to create a new character for this RP. Give me a bit and I'll have a character whipped up[and possibly drawn] and I'll start posting)

(no, that's ok, encron. I just wanted something to get it going)

A hand grabbed Rachel's shoulder, pulling her back into the crowd. She spun around, a blade materializing in her hand as her eyes narrowed into slits. Once she saw who it was, she cursed. "Rath, I told you not to do that!" she hissed. "We can't risk being caught!"

Rath, a fellow solitary fey, simply shook his head. "We have problems, Rachel." he said solemnly. "You need to get to the boundary. Now."

He had her attention. "What's wrong?"

"A portal has been opened, and now anyone can get it." Rath said tersely. "The distortion must have been the process of opening. The Court isn't going to do anything about it."

"Not even the Seelie?" she demanded incredulously.

"Not even them. The Seelie King has more than enough to deal with, considering the Unseelie court is determined to invade."

Rachel hesitated, then nodded. "Show me where this portal is. Let's see if we can close it before something gets through."

(Ah. Well, let's keep this show going. xD)

The assassin was moving through a small village, when he was surprised by two figures moving towards him. They looked human, but they had seemingly adjusted to the life here. The first of the two drew his weapon and pointed it at the assassin.

'You're not from around here. I demand an explanation.' said Rath.

'There will be no need for that weapon, I have no intention of harming anyone.'

'Well then, what's the point of packing a sword like that if you're not even going to use it?' asked Rachel.

'I am going to use it, just not against the natural inhabitants of this realm. Allow me to explain; I'm a vampire hunter. Nanashi's the name.' said the assassin.

'Vampires? You're in the wrong place for those, pal. You're not only a suspicious figure, but also a bad liar.' said Rath.

'Perhaps if you would let me finish explaining, you would understand how they got here. The portal you just closed wasn't the only one, there is also one that leads to a different part of this realm. The 'unseelie court', as I believe you call it. This portal wasn't established on Earth, but in the Demon Realm. Hence allowing a small band of vampires to gain access to this realm. The creatures on this side are perfect for them to feed themselves off, but they can only come here at night due to their weakness to the sun. As I've said before, their numbers are small, so with a slight bit of patience, I'll be out of your way in no time.' said Nanashi.

'As unlikely as your story sounds, I believe you.' said Rachel.

'Can you not sense the presence of this portal, then?' asked Nanashi.

'Now that you mention it, the distortion doesn't seem to have faded entirely...' said Rath.

'Well then, I will be on my way to dispose of the vampires. Untill we meet again.' said Nanashi.

Rath and Rachel watched as he walked further away from them, and further into the distance.

'Such a strange person, don't you agree?' asked Rachel.

'Yes, but I do believe his intentions are not evil.' said Rath.

Rachel hesitated, then went after the strange man. "Nanashi, wait." she called, stepping in front of him. He stopped, his gaze turning to her. "You're planning on walking through this world by yourself?"

"Yes." he replied.

"That wouldn't be a good idea, not if you want your goal to end quickly." Rachel pointed out. "The Courts are on the verge of war. There's safety in numbers, even for the solitary. Let us go with you. At the very least, we can keep the Court off your back until you reach your goal."

Rath shot her a look. "Is that a good idea?" he wondered. "We have enough problems with the Court as it is."

Rachel flashed him a smirk. "You forget - I know the Unseelie Court better than you do. I wasn't born solitary." She turned back to Nanashi. "So, what do you say?"

'That's a kind offer considering we hardly know eachother. If there's anything I can do to return the favour, let me know.' said Nanashi.

'I'll take that as a yes,' said Rath, 'and about that favour; I think it's safe to say you are already helping. With the upcoming war, the last thing we need is a bunch of troublemakers.'

Rachel seemed to be deep in thoughts, wich caught the others' attention.

'Is something wrong?' asked Nanashi.

'I just realised something. Don't you think that these portals opened up at a rather strange time? They may have been intended to make things more complicated for the Seelie.' said Rachel.

'But what about the portal at the Unseelie side, then?' asked Rath.

Rachel started explaining; 'Nanashi mentioned that the creatures here, on the Seelie side, are perfect for vampires to feed off. Meaning that those vampires are likely to be more troublesome to the Seelie.'

'Then the location of the second portal starts to make sense, too. It lies out of the Seelie territory, therefore making it harder for them to close it. As long as it is open, vampires will be able to enter this realm and cause trouble to the Seelie.' said Nanashi.

Rath smirked; 'I guess they didn't expect a vampire hunter to get through the other portal, did they?'

'Still though, we can't be certain who really is responsible for the opening of these portals, and if there are more.' said Rachel.

'It's getting dark, we may stumble upon some of these bloodsuckers soon,' said Nanashi, he grinned, 'be sure to watch your neck.'

Rachel flashed him a grin. "These blades are not ornimental." she said, drawing her twin short-swords that she always kept with her. Rath sighed.

"Rachel, you don't know how strong these vampires are." he pointed out.

"I can at least fend them off." Rachel said stubbornly.

Rath rolled his eyes. "Rachel was once a champion of the Unseelie Court." he explained to Nanashi. "She has a high opinion of her skill with the blade."

"Considering I lived long enough to get banished I would say it's a justified opinion of my skill." Rachel pointed out dryly, sheathing the blades. "It's not my fault that the Seelie King refused to train you in battle."

Rath shot her a filthy look. "I am perfectly capable of defending myself."

Rachel shrugged. "I know you are. And so am I." She turned to Nanashi. "You said you are a hunter. Then you know their patterns and where to find them. Lead the way."

'Well, I should provide you with some background information on this gang I'm hunting. Their leader was once a respected man in the military that was responsible for winning a certain battle against the elves. However, he wanted to join the Templars, the vampires' finest knights. His entry to this order was denied, and so he seperated from the military.' Nanashi said.

'And then he started up this gang, I suppose?' asked Rath.

Nanashi continued:'Correct. Most of his followers have been in the military or served as city gaurds in the past, so they've definately had some training. Still though, they shouldn't be too problematic to deal with.'

'And their equipment?' asked Rachel.

'They are usually lightly armored, wearing an outfit that bears a resemblance to the armor used by the vampires' crusaders. If you want to recognize them quickly, they're dressed in black, with a dark blue cross on their torso. Their weaponry is often a standard sword or spear, but some of them got lucky and found enchanted weaponry in some dungeon they raided...' Nanashi stopped talking and signaled Rath and Rachel to stop and stay quiet.

'Nanashi! I'm going to kill you!' Shouted a vampire as he ran towards Nanashi. The vampire jumped and reached for Nanashi's neck, but suddenly recieved a smashing blow in his face. The vampire was thrown back and landed against a tree.

Rachel quickly drew one of her swords and threw it at the vampire, killing it. She walked towards the creature and took her weapon back. As she turned to look at Nanashi, she was surprised at the sight of his arm.

Nanashi's right arm was seemingly armored, the tips of his fingers were clawed and an eerie red glow surrounded it.

'So that's why that vampire was thrown back with such force...' said Rath.

'Yes. This arm possesses quite a lot of power. I'm still not sure what it is exactly, though.' said Nanashi. He moved towards the vampire and took his sword. He examined it for a bit, then looked at Rath and Rachel, 'It's enchanted. And from the looks of this, it could sell for quite some money.'

Rachel grinned. "Keep it. Maybe you can hock it for more than it's worth. The Seelie are always on the lookout for curiosities." Rath shook his head.

"I wouldn't advise it. What if the vampires get it back again?"

Rachel gave him a look. "What are the chances of that happening? The Seelie may be slightly pacifistic, but they aren't stupid. A creature that looks like it spawned from Unseelie nightmares dressed all in black is bound to raise some alarms." She looked at Nanashi's hand, a hesitant look on her face. "You can use magick. Tell me, what are the vampires capable of?"

Rath watched, curious now. Rachel always had a thing about magick, and the kind other people used. He never could figure out why, because Rachel couldn't use magick herself except for simple glamour that all fey used.

'The band in itself doesn't pose much of a threat, as you saw just now their members can be easily disposed of. The only problem is their impure blood. Once they drink from the neck of a creature, it would become infected with all sorts of diseases. This may prove to be a problem since I doubt they would fear to drink from the neck of a Seelie. Hell, they even tried it with me.' said Nanashi.

'So, you think they would bring forth a plague of sickness, then?' Rachel asked.

'Not neccesarily a plague, but such infections are bothersome at the very least. Besides, the sickness in itself could weaken the Seelie's defenses, thusly making it easier for the Unseelie to strike.' said Nanashi.

'And you're here to deal with them to keep Seelie and Unseelie at equal odds, or do you have other motives?' Rath asked.

'I have little to no intention of interfering in this war, but I hold a personal grudge against vampires. Another motive would be that someone offers me large sums of money in order for the death of a certain vampire.' said Nanashi.

'So, for you, this would basicly be a business trip...' said Rachel.

Nanashi smirked; 'So it would seem. I don't intend on staying here for too long, no matter wich way you look at it, I'm a bit of an outsider.'

Rachel nodded. She really hadn't been expecting anything different. On the other hand. . . . "What kind of magick can you do?"

"Rachel, that's just rude." Rath scolded lightly. "You wouldn't give away any of your trade secrets."

"That's because I have none." she retorted. "Anyway, you know the saying - keep your friends close."

Rath cursed under his breath. "Psycho."

"Proud of it."

(That last bit caused me to smile. xD)

Nanashi laughed; 'I mainly use magic to either create weaponry, analyse weaponry, and for ranged attacks. Other then that, I use my sword or my arm.'

'You can create weaponry?' Rath asked.

'Yes, projection magick. I'll show you an example,' Nanashi said, looking at the enchanted sword they picked up from the dead vampire. A red aura formed in the palm of his hand, then he guided his other hand along it. Once the process was complete, he held an exact replica of the original sword.

'Now, since I've told you about my abilities, I would like to hear a bit about you two.' Nanashi grinned.

'Well, I suppose you're trustworthy.' said Rachel.
